The AV-8B Harrier II Plus is an advanced short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) attack aircraft developed for the United States Marine Corps and allied operators. An evolution of earlier Harrier variants, it features a redesigned composite wing, more powerful Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine, and improved payload capacity. The defining upgrade of the “Plus” version is its nose-mounted APG-65 radar, enabling beyond-visual-range air-to-air combat and enhanced all-weather strike capability. Designed for expeditionary warfare, the AV-8B can operate from amphibious assault ships, forward bases, and austere locations.
